California Poppy

This beautiful and colourful little flower became the State Flower for California in 1903. It grows native from Mexico to the Northern United States western areas.....so I’m not sure if it’s actually native to these dry inland reaches of the Okanagan Valley. It ranges in colour from orange to red and yellow - opening during the day and closing up at night.
